Ranch style dream home – Baldwin City
Ranch style, new construction home
A gorgeous country setting, complete with a pond, trees and acreage places this home in a ranch style dream! The homeowners created a unique ranch style floorplan that essentially combines two homes into one.
Sprawling open floor plan
One side of the home is larger for the family with young children. It boasts a sprawling open floor plan between the kitchen, living, dining, and open onto a larger than life covered deck! The vaulted ceiling and vast windows create a bright and flowy space right when you enter the front doors.
Inside the master bedroom the owner’s installed a smaller fireplace and sliding glass doors to access the back deck. Some of the luxuries when you walk into the bathroom include a large soaking tub, an oversized tiled shower, his and her sinks, and a custom closet with built-ins!
When entering the home from the garage you first enter a space intended for shoe and coat storage and it also opens into the laundry room. From there you can quickly set the groceries down on the kitchen counter and get dinner started or light the fire in the living room.
The finished basement greets you with a wood burning stove and lounging area that opens up to the sports bar. The wet bar is complete with a sink and custom cabinets and shelving for hosting events and watching the game! This basement continues to get more fun…. it has a theater room, a workout room, and tons of unfinished space! The finishing touches of trim work, flooring, and tile create a steady flow of design from room to room.
In-law suite
The other side of the home is designed for in-laws to comfortably have their own space yet be close by! Their side is complete with kitchen, dining, bathrooms, and laundry room. They also have two bedrooms and a gorgeous sun room for lounging.
Outdoor entertaining areas
With a large sprawling deck right off of the dining and living rooms, it is easily accessible to move in and out when hosting. On this deck there is also an outdoor cooking area with the grill encased in stone. The sunrise views from this deck are priceless!
Below the main deck, stairs will lead you to a large patio with stamped concrete and a fire pit. This area opens into the downstairs living area, which guests can easily get to the theater room or the sports bar.
Exterior features
Using a natural palette for exterior colors allows the home to fit in with the nature scenery surrounding it. They used a combination of natural wood columns, painted siding, and stone accents to bring a variety of texture and different earthy shades.
